Getting There

Bus
Start at the Nelson Bus Station located at 91 Halifax Street. Take the 'Cable Bay' bus service, which runs regularly and heads towards Hira. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once on the bus, inform the driver that you are going to Cable Bay Adventure Park, and they will let you know when to get off. The closest stop is at the intersection of Cable Bay Road and Hira Road. From there, it's a short 10-minute walk along Cable Bay Road to reach the park entrance.

Bike
Rent a bike from one of the local shops in Nelson, such as 'Nelson Cycle Hire' located on 40 Bridge Street. Head north on Bridge Street, then follow Trafalgar Street to the waterfront. Continue along the waterfront path until you reach the intersection with the Great Taste Trail. Follow the trail towards Hira, passing through scenic landscapes. The ride takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. When you reach Cable Bay Road, turn right and cycle for another 5 minutes to reach the park entrance.

Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and want to walk, start at the Nelson i-SITE Visitor Centre on 74 Trafalgar Street. Head north on Trafalgar Street, then take a left onto Hardy Street. Follow Hardy Street until you reach the waterfront path. Continue along the beachfront path towards Hira, which will eventually lead you to Cable Bay Road. This walking route is approximately 13 km and may take around 2.5 to 3 hours. Upon reaching Cable Bay Road, follow it for another 10 minutes to the park entrance.
