Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Huaraz, the nearest city. Head south on the PE-3N highway towards Caraz. After approximately 30 km, you will reach the town of Caraz. From Caraz, continue on the road leading to the Santa Cruz Trek trailhead at Cashapampa. This segment of the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once you reach Cashapampa, you can park your vehicle and begin trekking towards Condorcacha, which is 15 km away and will take approximately 6-7 hours of hiking.

Public Transportation
For those opting for public transportation, take a bus from Huaraz to Caraz. Buses leave frequently from the main terminal in Huaraz and the journey takes about 1 hour. Upon reaching Caraz, find a local taxi or a shared van to Cashapampa (approximately 30 minutes). The fare for the bus is around 10-15 soles, while the taxi or shared van to Cashapampa may cost around 20 soles. Once you arrive at Cashapampa, you will need to start your trek towards Condorcacha, which is a further 15 km hike taking about 6-7 hours.

After reaching Cashapampa, you will need to trek to Condorcacha. The trail is well-marked and offers stunning views. Follow the signs towards Laguna Santa Cruz. After walking for a few hours, you will reach the base of Condorcacha. Ensure you have enough water and snacks for the hike, and it is advisable to start early in the day to avoid hiking in the dark. The trek can be challenging, so be prepared for altitude and varying weather conditions.
