Getting There

• By Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards the town of Elvas, located in the Estremadura region. From the A6 motorway, take the exit toward Elvas. Follow the signs for Elvas, and as you enter the town, continue on Avenida de São Domingos. The Military Museum of Elvas will be on your left at Av. de São Domingos 16. There is street parking available nearby, but be aware of local parking regulations.

• By Train and Walk

  To get to the Military Museum of Elvas using public transportation, first take a train to Elvas. You can catch a train from major cities in Portugal, such as Lisbon or Évora, to the Elvas train station. Once you arrive at the Elvas station, exit and walk towards Avenida de São Domingos. It is approximately a 20-minute walk (around 1.5 km). Head northeast on Rua da Estação, then turn right onto Avenida de São Domingos, and you will find the museum at number 16 on your left.

• By Bus

  If you prefer to take a bus, check the schedules for buses heading to Elvas from cities like Badajoz (Spain) or other towns in Portugal. The main bus station in Elvas is close to the town center. After arriving at the bus station, you can either walk or take a taxi to the Military Museum of Elvas. Walking will take approximately 15 minutes; head southeast on Avenida de São Domingos until you reach the museum at number 16.

• Taxi

  If you are in the vicinity of Elvas and prefer a more direct route, you can always take a taxi to the Military Museum of Elvas. Simply tell the driver to take you to Avenida de São Domingos 16. This is a convenient option if you are traveling with luggage or prefer not to walk.
