Car
If you are driving, start your journey from the park entrance located at the main road. Follow the signs directing you to the Nyungwe National Park visitor center. Upon arriving at the center, continue on the main road for approximately 5 km. Look for signs indicating the Nyungwe National Park Campsite. The campsite is located near G5CX+XX3, Colline Ibanda. Make sure to have a map or GPS handy, as the roads can be winding and it's easy to miss turns.

Public Transportation
For travelers using public transport, take a bus headed to Nyungwe National Park from Kigali or other nearby cities. The bus will drop you off at the nearest town to the park. From there, you can hire a motorcycle taxi (known as 'moto') to take you to the park entrance. The moto ride will cost around 2,000 Rwandan Francs (approximately $2). Once you reach the park entrance, follow the signs to the visitor center and then continue on foot for approximately 5 km to reach the Nyungwe National Park Campsite. Alternatively, you can arrange for a guided tour that includes transport directly to the campsite.

If you're already within the Nyungwe Forest National Park and wish to hike to the campsite, start from the visitor center. There are well-marked trails leading through the forest. Follow the trails for approximately 5 km, enjoying the scenery and wildlife along the way. Ensure you have proper hiking gear and sufficient water. This option is free, but make sure to inform park officials of your plans before heading out, and consider hiring a local guide for safety and to enhance your experience.
