Getting There

Car
If you are driving, take the main road leading through Nyungwe Forest National Park. Follow the signs for Nyungwe National Park and Gisakura. As you approach Gisakura, look for the entrance to One&Only Nyungwe House, which is located approximately 10 minutes past the Gisakura visitor center. The property will be on your right side, and you will see signs indicating the entrance.

Public Transportation
To reach One&Only Nyungwe House by public transportation, first take a bus from Kigali to Nyungwe National Park. Buses to Nyungwe leave from the Nyabugogo bus terminal in Kigali. Once you arrive at the Nyungwe National Park entrance, you will need to take a moto-taxi or arrange for a local taxi to take you to One&Only Nyungwe House, which is about a 30-minute ride from the park entrance. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which should be around 5,000 to 10,000 Rwandan Francs.

Walking
If you are already within Nyungwe Forest National Park and are near the Gisakura area, you can walk to One&Only Nyungwe House. From the Gisakura visitor center, head towards the main road and walk for about 30 minutes in the direction of Nyungwe House. The lodge is well-signposted, so follow the signs along the way. Be prepared for a scenic walk through the forest, but do ensure you have appropriate walking shoes and water.
