Walking
From the center of Ruhengeri, head south on Avenue de la Révolution towards Avenue de l’Indépendance. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Avenue de la Paix. Walk straight until you reach a bus station. From the bus station, ask locals for the direction to the main road that leads to Goma; they will direct you to the path leading out of Ruhengeri. Follow this path for about 9 kilometers until you reach the border post at Cyanika. Once you have crossed the border into the Democratic Republic of Congo, continue walking towards Goma. As you enter Goma, follow the signs to Rond Point Tshukudu, which is located at the coordinates 868P+95H, Goma.

If you are able to rent a bicycle in Ruhengeri, start from the city center and head south on Avenue de la Révolution. Continue straight to the roundabout and take the second exit onto Avenue de la Paix. Keep riding straight until you reach the bus station. From there, you will find the road that leads to Goma. Cycle along this route, which is approximately 9 kilometers, until you reach the border post at Cyanika. After crossing into the Democratic Republic of Congo, continue to ride towards Goma. Look for signs directing you to Rond Point Tshukudu, located at 868P+95H, Goma.
