Getting There

  • Bus

    From the main bus station in Sežana, take the bus heading towards Trieste. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the correct times. You will need to get off at the 'Aquileia' stop. Once you arrive, walk towards the archaeological area, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop. Head northeast on Via Aquileia, then turn right onto Via Giuseppe Mazzini, and you will find the Archaeological Area of Aquileia - Domus of Tito Macro on your left.

  • Train

    Take a train from Sežana train station towards Trieste. You will need to change trains at the Trieste Centrale station to a train heading towards Udine. Get off at the 'Aquileia' station. From there, it's a short 15-minute walk. Exit the train station and head southeast on Via della Libertà, then turn left onto Via Comunale, and follow the signs leading to the Archaeological Area of Aquileia - Domus of Tito Macro.

  • Walking

    If you prefer to walk, start from the town center of Sežana. Head east on the main road (H4), which leads towards the Italian border. After about 5 kilometers, you will reach the border, and you can continue straight into Italy. Follow the signs for Aquileia, and upon arrival, look for directional signs to the archaeological area. This is a longer journey, taking around 1.5 hours on foot.
