Start at the Kandy Clock Tower, a central landmark in Kandy. From the Clock Tower, head southeast on Dalada Veediya towards the Kandy Lake. Continue straight until you reach the entrance of the Royal Botanical Gardens on your left. Keep walking until you reach the main road, and then turn left onto the A26 road towards Galaha. Walk for about 2 km until you reach a bus stop on the left side of the road.

At the bus stop, catch a bus heading towards Galaha. The buses are frequent, so you shouldn't have to wait long. Ride the bus for about 15-20 minutes until you reach the Galaha junction. Get off at the Galaha junction stop and ask locals for directions to Hanthana Mountain, as it's a well-known destination nearby.

From the Galaha junction, walk along the road in the direction of Hanthana. You will see signs for Hanthana Mountain as you approach. Follow the path that leads up the mountain. It's about a 30-minute walk up a well-trodden trail. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water with you as the trail can be steep.

Once you reach the base of Hanthana Mountain, follow the designated hiking trails that lead upwards. The trails are marked, and you can ask locals for tips on the best routes.
