Walking
From the center of Nuwara Eliya, head towards the famous Lake Gregory. Walk along the road that circles the lake until you reach the main entrance of the lake park. Continue on the same road, which will gradually incline as you pass by beautiful gardens and local shops. Keep an eye out for signs pointing towards Kirigalpotha, as the trailhead is located near the end of the lake. The trailhead is marked and there are usually locals around who can assist you if needed.

Hiking
Once you have reached the trailhead, you will begin your hike to Kirigalpotha. The trail is well-marked and starts with a steep ascent through lush greenery. Follow the path for about 3 kilometers until you reach the first viewpoint. This part of the hike should take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Enjoy the scenic views as you continue to ascend, and make sure to take breaks if needed. After reaching the viewpoint, you will continue for another 2 kilometers, which will lead you directly to the summit of Kirigalpotha. The total hiking time from the trailhead to the summit is around 3 to 4 hours.
