Walking
Start at the Nuwara Eliya city center. Head north on Bank Road towards the Nuwara Eliya Post Office. From the Post Office, take the road leading up to the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club. Continue along this road until you reach the entrance to the Horton Plains National Park. Kirigalpoththa Summit is located near the Horton Plains, so you can access the trailhead from this area. Please note that the trail to the summit starts at the park entrance. Ensure you have the necessary tickets for entry, as well as a map of the area for better navigation.

Hiking
Once you've entered Horton Plains National Park, follow the marked trail towards Kirigalpoththa Summit. The hike is approximately 8 kilometers one way and can take around 3-4 hours to reach the summit, depending on your pace. The trail is well-maintained but can be steep and rocky in sections. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and bring water. As you ascend, you will be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Keep an eye out for the summit markers along the way.
