Getting There

Walking
From the center of Moshi, head to the Moshi bus station, located near the junction of Uhuru Street and Jamhuri Street. Ask any local for directions to the Kilimanjaro National Park entrance. Once you reach the entrance, you will need to purchase a park entry ticket. After entering the park, follow the marked trail towards the Shira Plateau. The hike is approximately 10-12 km and can take 4-6 hours depending on your pace. Be sure to carry enough water and snacks for the journey.

Bicycle
If you prefer a bicycle, you can rent one from a local shop in Moshi. Start from the center of Moshi and head towards the Kilimanjaro National Park entrance. The route is mostly flat but can be challenging as you approach the park. The distance to the park entrance is about 8 km. Once you reach the entrance, pay for your entry ticket and continue cycling towards the Shira Plateau. The trail is well-marked, and you can expect to spend about 3-5 hours cycling, depending on your speed and the trail conditions.
