Car
If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Moshi town. Head southwest on the A23 highway towards Arusha. After approximately 30 kilometers, look for the road sign indicating Machame. Turn left onto the Machame road and continue for about 18 kilometers. You will pass local villages and scenic landscapes. Follow the road until you reach a parking area near the Machame Gate entrance to Kilimanjaro National Park. From there, you will need to hike to Machame Camp, approximately 10 kilometers away, which takes about 5-7 hours on foot through lush rainforest.

Public Transportation
To reach Machame Camp using public transportation, take a daladala (shared minibus) from Moshi town heading to Machame. The fare is around 2,000 TZS. Inform the driver you want to get off at Machame Gate. Upon arrival at the gate, you will need to pay a park entrance fee (approximately 70 USD for international tourists). From the Machame Gate, you will have to hike approximately 10 kilometers to reach Machame Camp, which usually takes about 5-7 hours through the beautiful rainforest. Ensure you have a local guide to assist you with the hike.
