Car
If you are driving, start from Moshi town. Head southeast on A23 towards Kilimanjaro National Park. After approximately 30 minutes, follow signs to the Kilema Gate entrance (about 1 hour drive total). After entering the park, pay the entrance fee (around $70 for non-residents). Continue driving until you reach the Marangu Gate, where you can park your vehicle. From Marangu Gate, you will need to hike to Gilman's Point, which is approximately a 6-8 hour trek.

Public Transportation (Bus)
From Moshi, you can take a bus to Marangu. Buses leave frequently throughout the day from the Moshi bus station. The fare is about $2-3 and the journey takes around 1 hour. Once you arrive at Marangu, you will need to hire a local guide (mandatory) to take you to Gilman's Point. The guide fee can vary but expect to pay around $50 for a day's trek.

Once you are at the Marangu Gate, begin your hike towards Gilman's Point. The trek is challenging and requires a good level of fitness. Follow the well-marked paths, and be sure to stay hydrated. It's recommended to start early in the morning to ensure you have enough time to reach the point and return. The hike takes about 6-8 hours to reach Gilman's Point (W9P6+65), located at an altitude of 5,681 meters.
