Getting There

• Walking

  If you are already within McKinney Falls State Park, head towards the Lower Falls Trailhead located near the park's headquarters. From the headquarters, follow the signs for the Lower Falls Trail. The trail is approximately 0.5 miles long and will take you directly to Lower McKinney Falls. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes as the trail can be rocky and uneven. The walk should take about 15-20 minutes.

• Bicycling

  For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike within McKinney Falls State Park. After renting your bike, ride towards the Lower Falls Trailhead, following the designated bike paths. The same route applies as the walking path, which is around 0.5 miles. This option allows for a quicker arrival at Lower McKinney Falls while enjoying the scenery. Ensure you wear a helmet and follow all safety guidelines.

• Driving

  If you're driving, you can park at the park's main parking lot. From there, look for the signs directing you to the Lower Falls Trailhead. Note that parking within the park requires an entrance fee, which is currently $6 per person for adults (children under 12 are free). After parking, you can either walk to the Lower Falls Trailhead, which is a short 0.5-mile walk, or bike if you have brought your own.
