If you are starting from Durham City Centre, make your way to the Market Place, which is a central hub for tourists. From the Market Place, head south on Silver Street until you reach the river. Continue walking until you reach the Elvet Bridge. Cross the bridge, and you will find yourself on the opposite bank of the River Wear. Once you've crossed, turn right and walk along the riverside path. Keep walking, and after a few minutes, you will see the Kingsgate Footbridge ahead, connecting you back across the river. The footbridge is well marked and should be easy to spot.

If you're near the Durham Cathedral, exit the cathedral grounds and head towards the river. Follow the path down towards the River Wear and turn left to walk along the riverside towards the Elvet Bridge. After crossing the bridge, turn right and continue along the river path. The Kingsgate Footbridge will be visible a short distance ahead.

If you are near the Durham University campus, start by heading towards the riverbank. Once you reach the river, follow the path downstream. You will eventually reach the Elvet Bridge. Cross the bridge and turn right upon arrival on the opposite side. Continue walking along the riverside path, and you will soon arrive at the Kingsgate Footbridge.

For those coming from the train station, exit the station and head towards the city centre. Follow the signs leading to the Market Place. Once there, follow the directions to Elvet Bridge. After crossing the bridge, take a right along the river path, which will lead you directly to the Kingsgate Footbridge.
