Walking
If you are starting from the Durham Train Station, exit the station and head towards the main road (North Road). Turn left and walk along North Road until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the A691 (the road is also called Framwellgate Peth). Continue straight, passing through the main shopping district and up the hill towards the historic center of Durham. As you approach the top of the hill, you will see the Cathedral on your left. Keep walking straight until you reach a fork in the road. Take the left path that leads you into the Bailey area. Continue walking straight, and you will see a sign for the University. The Department of Classics and Ancient History is located at 38 N Bailey, just off the main path.
