Getting There

    From Durham city centre, head to the bus station located at North Road. Look for the bus routes serving the area towards Ushaw. Take the 'X12' bus service heading towards 'Bishop Auckland' or 'Consett'. The journey will take approximately 20-25 minutes. Get off at the 'Ushaw' bus stop on Woodland Road. From there, it's a short walk to Ushaw: Historic House, Chapels & Gardens. Follow the signs that lead you directly to the entrance.

    If you prefer to walk, start from the Durham Cathedral. Head north on The College towards Palace Green, then continue straight onto North Bailey. Turn left onto the A691 (Leazes Road) and walk for about 1.5 miles. As you approach the roundabout, take the second exit onto the B6288 (Woodland Road) and keep walking straight. Ushaw: Historic House, Chapels & Gardens will be on your right, about a 30-40 minute walk from the city centre.
