Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from Edinburgh Waverley Train Station, exit the station towards the High Street (also known as the Royal Mile). Walk along the Royal Mile in the direction of the Palace of Holyroodhouse. After about 15 minutes, you will reach Canongate. The entrance to Canongate Kirkyard is located on the right side of the street, just before the Scottish Parliament. Look for the stone wall and gate that marks the entrance.

    From the Edinburgh Bus Station, head towards St. Andrew Square and take the east exit onto the North St. David Street. Continue straight to Princes Street, then turn left and walk until you reach the junction with the Royal Mile. Turn right onto the Royal Mile and continue walking for approximately 20 minutes until you reach Canongate. The entrance to the kirkyard will be on your right before you reach the Scottish Parliament.
