Bus
From the city center, walk to the St Andrew Square Bus Station. Take the Lothian Buses number 37 or 47 towards Penicuik. Stay on the bus for about 30-40 minutes until you reach the 'Penicuik Town Centre' stop. From the bus stop, head south on the High Street, then turn left onto the A701. Continue walking for approximately 20 minutes until you reach the entrance to Castlelaw Hill.

Train and Walk
Start at Waverley Station in Edinburgh. Take a train towards Penicuik. Once you arrive at Penicuik Station, exit the station and walk north on the A701 (Midlothian Road). After about 30 minutes of walking, you will reach the entrance to Castlelaw Hill. Be sure to follow the signs for the walking trails leading up the hill.

If you're feeling adventurous and are staying nearby, you can walk directly from Edinburgh. Start at the east end of Princes Street and head south, following the signs to the Water of Leith walkway. Continue along the path until you reach the A701. From there, head south until you reach Penicuik. Once in Penicuik, follow the directions for bus transport or continue walking to the entrance of Castlelaw Hill, which will take roughly 1.5 to 2 hours.
