From Edinburgh city center, head to the nearest bus stop. You can catch the Lothian Buses number 4, 10, or 11. Board the bus and enjoy a scenic ride towards the south of the city. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop called 'Swanston Village'. This should take about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Once you get off, you’ll be at the entrance to the Pentland Hills Regional Park.

If you prefer to walk from the bus stop at Swanston Village, head south on Swanston Road (A703). The entrance to Pentland Hills Regional Park is located at 122 Swanston Road, just a 5-minute walk from the bus stop. You will see signs directing you into the park.

Cycle
For those who enjoy cycling, you can rent a bike in Edinburgh. Make your way towards the south of the city, following the Water of Leith walkway, which connects well to the cycle paths leading towards the Pentland Hills. The total cycling distance from the city center is approximately 6 miles, and it will take around 30-40 minutes to reach Swanston. Once you arrive at Swanston, follow Swanston Road to reach the park entrance.
