Travel Guide to Glasshouses, Royal Botanic Garden

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the city center (e.g., Princes Street), head north towards the Scott Monument. Continue past the monument and make your way to the top of the Mound. From there, follow the road leading to the Royal Scottish Academy. Continue straight until you reach the junction at the West End of George Street. Turn left onto Queen Street and keep walking until you reach the end of the street. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto North St Andrew Street, then turn right onto York Place. From York Place, continue straight, which will eventually become Broughton Street. Follow Broughton Street until you reach the junction with East Claremont Street. Turn left onto East Claremont Street, then right onto Inverleith Row. The Royal Botanic Garden will be on your right, and the Glasshouses are located within the gardens.

• Bus

  From the city center, you can take the bus to the Royal Botanic Garden. Board any Lothian bus that goes toward the 'Inverleith' area, such as the number 8 or 23. The bus stop you need is 'Botanic Garden' or 'Inverleith Row'. Once you get off the bus, walk a short distance down Inverleith Row, and you will see the entrance to the Royal Botanic Garden on your left. The Glasshouses are located within the garden grounds.

• Tram

  If you prefer to use the tram, catch the tram from any stop on the Edinburgh tram route. Alight at the 'York Place' stop. From there, walk up to Broughton Street and turn right. Follow Broughton Street to the junction with East Claremont Street and turn left. After that, make a right onto Inverleith Row. Continue walking until you find the entrance to the Royal Botanic Garden on your right. The Glasshouses are located inside the garden.
