Getting There

• Bus

  If you are starting from the city center, head to the nearest bus stop at St Andrew Square. Look for the Lothian Buses that go to 'Inverleith' or 'Botanics'. Bus numbers 23, 27, and 8 all stop near the Royal Botanic Garden. Once on the bus, stay on for about 15 minutes until you reach the stop 'Inverleith Row'. From there, walk a short distance down Inverleith Row, and you will see the entrance to the Botanic Gardens on your left.

• Tram

  If you prefer the tram, make your way to the nearest tram stop, which is also at St Andrew Square or Princes Street. Take the tram heading towards York Place. Get off at the 'West End - Princes Street' stop and transfer to bus number 8 or 23 towards 'Inverleith'. Ride for about 10-15 minutes and disembark at 'Inverleith Row'. Walk a few minutes down Inverleith Row to reach the entrance of the Botanic Gardens.

• Walking

  For those who enjoy walking, if you are in the city center, you can stroll to the Royal Botanic Garden. Begin at Princes Street and head north towards the Mound. Continue on to the Water of Leith Walkway and follow the path northwards. This will take you through some beautiful areas of the city and will take approximately 30-40 minutes. As you approach the gardens, you will see signs leading you to the entrance on Inverleith Row.

• Cycle

  If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bike from one of the many bike-sharing schemes in the city. Start from the city center and head towards the Water of Leith cycle path. Follow the path north until you reach the Royal Botanic Garden. There are bike racks available at the entrance for you to secure your bike while you explore the gardens.
