Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Sistine Chapel, exit the chapel and head towards the main entrance of the Vatican Museums. Once outside, continue straight to the end of Viale Vaticano. At the end of the street, you will reach Piazza San Pietro (St. Peter's Square). From there, turn right onto Via della Conciliazione and continue walking straight. After approximately 1 kilometer, you will reach the intersection with Viale della Trinità dei Monti. Turn left onto Viale della Trinità dei Monti, and the Villa Medici will be on your right, just a short walk down the road.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    From the Sistine Chapel, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Via della Conciliazione. Board Bus 87 towards 'Piazza di Porta Maggiore' and travel for 4 stops (about 10 minutes). Get off at the 'Piazza di Spagna' stop. From there, walk up the steps of the Spanish Steps, then continue walking straight along Via di San Sebastianello until you reach Viale della Trinità dei Monti. Villa Medici will be directly ahead.

    If you prefer a scenic route, exit the Sistine Chapel and head towards the Vatican Gardens. Once inside, stroll through the gardens until you reach the exit at the top of the hill. Follow the signs leading to the Pincio Terrace which overlooks Piazza del Popolo. From the terrace, walk down the steps towards Via del Boccaccio, turn left, and then take another left onto Viale della Trinità dei Monti. You will find Villa Medici a short distance ahead on your right.
