Getting There

Walking
Exit the Sistine Chapel and head towards the main entrance of the Vatican Museums. Once you are outside, walk straight ahead, following the signs towards St. Peter's Basilica. You will pass through the Vatican City walls. Continue walking until you reach Piazza San Pietro. From there, take the exit towards Via della Conciliazione, which leads you out of the Vatican. Follow this road until you reach the Tiber River. Cross the river using the bridge (Ponte Sant'Angelo) and you will be on the other side. Continue straight on to Via di S. Giovanni in Laterano until you reach the intersection with Via dei Fori Imperiali. Turn right onto Via dei Fori Imperiali and continue walking until you reach Piazza Venezia. From Piazza Venezia, take Via del Corso until you reach Piazza del Campidoglio. The Senatorial Palace will be on your left.

Public Transport
After exiting the Sistine Chapel, walk back towards the main entrance of the Vatican Museums and head to the nearby Ottaviano Metro Station (Line A). Once at the station, take the metro towards Anagnina and disembark at the sixth stop, which is Termini. At Termini, transfer to Line B and take the metro towards Laurentina. Disembark at the next stop, which is Colosseo. From the Colosseo station, exit and walk towards the Colosseum. Continue straight on Via di San Giovanni in Laterano until you reach the intersection with Via dei Fori Imperiali. Turn right onto Via dei Fori Imperiali and walk straight until you reach Piazza Venezia. From there, walk towards Piazza del Campidoglio, where the Senatorial Palace is located.
