Getting There

From downtown Huntsville, you can catch the Huntsville Public Transit bus route 2 at the corner of Monroe Street and Church Street. Ride the bus towards the South Parkway. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes, and then disembark at the stop located at the intersection of South Parkway and Green Mountain Road. From there, you can walk approximately 1 mile southeast along Green Mountain Road until you reach the entrance of Green Mountain South Nature Preserve.

Bicycle
Starting from the Huntsville Museum of Art, head south on Church Street and then turn left onto Clinton Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Memorial Parkway. Take a right onto the Parkway and ride south for about 3 miles. Then, turn left onto Green Mountain Road and follow it for another 2 miles. You will see signs for Green Mountain South Nature Preserve. The entire journey is approximately 5 miles and should take around 30-40 minutes, depending on your cycling speed.

If you are starting from Huntsville's Big Spring International Park, begin by walking south on Church Street. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Memorial Parkway. Cross the Parkway and take a left to head south. Follow Memorial Parkway for about 1 mile until you reach the intersection with Green Mountain Road. Turn right onto Green Mountain Road and walk approximately 1.5 miles. You will find the entrance to Green Mountain South Nature Preserve on your left.
