Car
If you are driving to the Ruined Castle, start by entering the Blue Mountains National Park area. From Katoomba, follow the signs for the Great Western Highway (A32) heading west. After about 5 km, take the exit toward Cliff Drive. Follow Cliff Drive, which will take you past scenic lookouts. Continue on this road until you reach the entrance to the Ruined Castle walking track, which is located at the top of the scenic railway near Scenic World. There is a parking area available, but be aware that parking fees may apply, typically around AUD 4-8 for a daily ticket.

Public Transport
To reach the Ruined Castle via public transport, start by taking a train from Sydney to Katoomba Station. Trains run regularly, and the journey takes about 2 hours. Once at Katoomba Station, exit and catch the Blue Mountains Explorer Bus or a local bus (routes 686 or 687) towards Scenic World. Get off at the Scenic World stop. From Scenic World, follow the signs to the Ruined Castle walking track, which begins at the top of the scenic railway. Note that the Explorer Bus ticket costs around AUD 45 for a day pass, allowing unlimited travel on the bus for the day.

For those who are already in the vicinity of Scenic World, you can walk to the Ruined Castle walking track. Start at the Scenic World entrance and walk along the marked paths leading to the Ruined Castle. The walk is approximately 4 km and takes about 1-1.5 hours one way. Ensure you wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring water for the journey.
