Car
To reach Nelson Falls by car, start from Hobart, the capital of Tasmania. Take the Brooker Highway (A10) north until you reach the junction with the Midland Highway (A1). Turn left onto the Midland Highway and continue until you reach the junction with the Lyell Highway (A10) near Oatlands. Turn right onto the Lyell Highway and continue for approximately 80 kilometers until you see the signs for Nelson Falls. There is a parking area available near the falls, and entry is free.
Public Transportation
If traveling by public transport, you can take a bus from Hobart to Queenstown. The bus service is operated by Tassielink, and it's advisable to check their schedule online as they may vary. Once you arrive in Queenstown, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to get to Nelson Falls, which is approximately 30 kilometers away. Walking
Once you arrive at the Nelson Falls parking area, there is a short walking track leading to the falls. The walk is about 1.5 kilometers return and takes approximately 30 minutes.
