Check the tide charts before you go. The Bubbly Pool is best at high tide when the waves are strongest.
Wear water shoes to protect your feet from slippery rocks and strong currents.
Visit early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid crowds.
Bring water and sunscreen, as there are few amenities at the pool.
Be cautious of the Manchineel tree along the trail; its fruit and bark are poisonous.

Discover more about Bubbly Pool

Nestled on the northeastern coast of Jost Van Dyke, the Bubbly Pool is a hidden gem and natural wonder. This isn't your typical serene Caribbean cove; when the tide cooperates, the pool turns into a lively jacuzzi, with foamy waters crashing in from the other side of the rocks. The pool's unique bubbly effect is created by waves rushing through a narrow gap in the rocks, filling the pool with effervescent seawater. The adventure begins with a scenic hike from Foxy's Taboo Restaurant. The well-marked trail takes you past a salt pond and through a grove of cacti, with blue dashes painted on trees to guide the way. Be mindful of the Manchineel tree, identified by a warning sign, as its fruits and bark are poisonous. The short, 10-15 minute walk is a highlight, offering beautiful views and a chance to spot local wildlife. Once at the Bubbly Pool, relax and enjoy the natural jacuzzi. The waves create a thrilling and refreshing experience as they toss you about in the foamy water. Be cautious of slippery rocks, strong currents, and the potential for rip tides. The pool is most active during high tide and in the winter months when the waves are strongest.
