Lindquist Beach: St. Thomas's Tranquil Paradise

Lindquist Beach, also known as Smith Bay Park, is a 21-acre protected preserve located on the northeastern coast of St. Thomas. This idyllic beach is renowned for its powdery white sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and tranquil ambiance. Backed by lush vegetation and swaying palm trees, Lindquist Beach offers a picturesque setting for swimming, sunbathing, and snorkeling. The calm waters are ideal for families with children, while snorkelers can explore the vibrant marine life just offshore. The beach is generally less crowded than other popular St. Thomas beaches, providing a more secluded and peaceful experience. Lindquist Beach is a favorite spot for locals, especially on Sundays, when they gather for picnics and parties. Lindquist Beach has remained relatively undeveloped over the years, preserving its natural beauty. In 2006, the U.S. Virgin Islands government purchased the surrounding beachfront property to create Smith Bay Park, ensuring its protection for future generations. The park is managed by the Magens Bay Authority. While the beach offers basic amenities like restrooms, picnic tables and lifeguards, it lacks restaurants and bars, so visitors should bring their own refreshments.
