Getting There

Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Samokov, which is a common entry point to the Rila Mountains. From Samokov, take the road towards Borovets. After approximately 10 km, you will reach Borovets. Continue on the main road towards the Seven Rila Lakes (Седемте Рилски Езера). The road will lead you through a beautiful forested area. There is a parking area at the base of the Seven Rila Lakes, where you can leave your car. Parking fees may apply, usually around 10-15 BGN for the day. From the parking area, you will need to hike towards the Seven Rila Lakes. Follow the marked trails that lead to Haramiyata (Black Peak). The hike will take about 3-4 hours, depending on your pace.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Sofia to Samokov. The bus ride takes approximately 1.5 hours and costs around 10 BGN. Once in Samokov, look for a bus heading to Borovets. This ride takes about 30 minutes and costs about 3-5 BGN. From Borovets, you can either hike to the Seven Rila Lakes or take a chairlift (if in operation during your visit) which will take you closer to the lakes, reducing your hiking time. Note that the chairlift may have a fee, usually around 20-30 BGN one way. Once at the Seven Rila Lakes, follow the well-marked trails to reach Haramiyata (Black Peak).
