Car
If you are driving, start from the town of Rila. Head northwest on the main road (E79) towards the Rila Monastery. After approximately 12 km, turn left onto the road leading to the Rila Lakes area. Follow the signs for the 'Seven Rila Lakes' until you reach the parking area near the Rila Lakes hut. The parking fee is around 10 BGN. From the parking area, you’ll need to hike approximately 1.5 hours to reach Lake Peak. The trail is marked and takes you through stunning landscapes.

Public Transportation
To reach Lake Peak using public transport, take a bus from Rila to the town of Sapareva Banya. Buses run regularly, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once in Sapareva Banya, transfer to a minibus heading to the Seven Rila Lakes. The minibus ride will take about 45 minutes. Upon arrival at the Rila Lakes, there is a small entrance fee (approximately 5 BGN). From the Rila Lakes hut, hike for about 1.5 hours to reach Lake Peak. The trail is well-marked and offers beautiful views.

Once you arrive at the Rila Lakes hut, begin your hike toward Lake Peak. The trail is well-marked with signs indicating the way. You'll ascend through rocky terrain and alpine meadows. The hike to Lake Peak (2657 mamsl) is moderate to challenging, so ensure you’re wearing appropriate hiking gear. It typically takes about 1.5 hours to reach the peak. Along the way, take breaks to enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding lakes and mountains.
