Turn left onto Ara Tapu and continue walking for approximately 2 kilometers. You will pass several local shops and cafes. Keep an eye out for the sign for Te Rua Manga (The Needle) on your right, just before reaching the Q666+CCF address. The entrance to the trail leading up to Te Rua Manga is marked and a short walk from the main road.

    If you have rented a bicycle, start from your accommodation in Ngatangiia and head towards the Ara Tapu road. You can ride along the coastal path until you reach the junction with Ara Tapu. Turn left and cycle for about 2 kilometers. Look for the sign for Te Rua Manga (The Needle) on your right. You can park your bicycle safely at the entrance before starting your hike up to the viewpoint.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    Catch a local bus from Ngatangiia heading towards Avarua. The bus will drop you off at the closest stop to Te Rua Manga, which is near the Ara Tapu road. After getting off, walk back along Ara Tapu for about 400 meters until you see the sign for Te Rua Manga (The Needle) on your left. Follow the signs for the trail entrance.
