Walking
From the center of Takitumu, head east on the main road, known as Ara Tapu. Follow this road for approximately 2 kilometers. As you walk, you will pass by several local shops and cafes where you can stop for refreshments. After about 20-25 minutes of walking, you will reach the junction where Ara Tapu meets the road heading towards Nikao Beach. Turn left onto this road.
Walking
Continue walking along this road for another 1 kilometer until you see a sign for Nikao Beach on your right. The beach is located just off the road, so look for a pathway that leads down to the sand. This final stretch should take about 15 minutes.
Public Transport
If you prefer not to walk, you can take a local bus from the main bus stop in Takitumu. Look for a bus heading towards Avarua and inform the driver that you want to get off at the Nikao Beach stop. The bus ride will take approximately 15 minutes. Once you get off, walk down the path that leads to the beach, which is just a short distance ahead.
