Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, head towards Helsingør, which is approximately 45km north of Copenhagen. Take the E47 motorway towards Helsingør. Once you reach Helsingør, follow the signs for Hornbæk along Route 16, which will lead you through beautiful countryside. The drive will take around 50 minutes from Copenhagen. Upon entering Hornbæk, follow the signs to the beach area, which is well marked. There is parking available near the beach, but be aware that there may be a fee during the peak season.

• Train and Bus

  For those using public transportation, start your journey at Copenhagen Central Station (København H). Take a train heading towards Helsingør, which runs frequently. The train ride takes about 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Helsingør Station, exit the train and head to the bus terminal located nearby. Take bus 388 towards Hornbæk. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Hornbæk Strand', which is a short walk to the beach. Please check the current bus schedules as they may vary.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous and would like to cycle, you can rent a bicycle in Copenhagen and take the scenic route. Start by cycling north along the coast towards Helsingør. This route offers beautiful views of the Øresund Strait. It is approximately 60km and can take around 3-4 hours. Once in Helsingør, continue to Hornbæk either by following the same bus route or cycling along the designated bike paths. Make sure to have a bike lock and check the weather before setting out.
