Car
If you are driving from Tena, head south on the E45 highway. Continue for about 90 kilometers until you reach the junction with the E28 highway. Take a left onto the E28 and follow it for about 50 kilometers. Once you reach the town of Cotopaxi, follow the signs to the Cotopaxi National Park entrance. There is an entrance fee of approximately $10 per vehicle.
Public Transportation
From Tena, take a bus to Quito. The bus ride takes around 4-5 hours and costs approximately $5-10. Once in Quito, transfer to a bus heading to Latacunga, which costs about $2-4 and takes around 2 hours. In Latacunga, find a bus that goes to the Cotopaxi National Park; this journey will take about 1 hour and cost around $1-2. Remember to check bus schedules in advance.
