From Bertoldsbrunnen, a major tram and bus hub, it's a 1-minute walk east along Bertoldstraße. The church is situated among the university buildings.

The University Church is well-served by Freiburg's tram network. The closest tram stop is 'Stadttheater,' served by multiple lines. From the main train station (Hauptbahnhof), take tram line 1 towards Littenweiler or line 3 towards Haid and get off at 'Stadttheater'. From there, walk a few steps west on Bertoldstraße. A single ticket valid for one hour costs €2.50.
