Walking
From the center of Blonduos, start by walking towards the Blonduos Church, which is located on the main road, Þjóðvegur 1. Once you reach the church, continue walking northeast along Þjóðvegur 1 for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass a few local shops and cafes on your way. Keep an eye out for the signs that indicate the direction to Varmahlíð. After approximately 20 minutes of walking, you will reach a fork in the road; take the left path that leads towards Varmahlíð. Continue straight for another 2 kilometers until you see the sign for 'Bakkaflöt'. The river rafting location is just off the main road, and you will see the entrance clearly marked.

If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Blonduos. Start your journey by heading towards the Blonduos Church and then follow the same route as if you were walking. Biking will take you about 10-15 minutes to reach the Bakkaflöt - River Rafting area. Ensure to wear a helmet and follow the biking lanes where available. The route is mostly flat, making it suitable for all biking skill levels.
