    If you are driving from Reykjavík, head out of the city on Route 1 (the Ring Road) towards Selfoss. Continue on Route 1 for about 45 kilometers (28 miles) until you reach the junction for Route 36. Turn left onto Route 36 towards Thingvellir National Park. Continue on Route 36 for approximately 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) until you reach the entrance to Thingvellir National Park. Once in the park, follow the signs towards Silfra. The parking area for Silfra is located near the diving site. Note that there is a parking fee of around 1,000 ISK (about 7 USD) for parking in the national park.

    To reach Silfra via public transportation, start by taking a bus from Reykjavík to Thingvellir National Park. You can catch a bus from the BSI Bus Terminal in Reykjavík.
