If you are traveling by car from Thorsmork, head southwest on the main road leading out of the valley. After approximately 10 kilometers, you will reach the junction. Turn right onto Route 208 towards Landmannaleið. Continue on this road for about 12 kilometers until you reach the entrance of Fjallabak Nature Reserve at coordinates 64.0025067, -19.1279877. Please note that a 4x4 vehicle is recommended due to rough terrain, and there may be a fee for parking at the reserve.

To reach Fjallabak Nature Reserve via public transportation, first, take a bus from Thorsmork to Hvolsvöllur. From Hvolsvöllur, you will need to transfer to a bus that goes towards Landmannalaugar. Make sure to check the schedule as these buses may not run frequently. Once you arrive at Landmannalaugar, it is about a 9-kilometer hike to the entrance of Fjallabak Nature Reserve, which should take approximately 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Be prepared with proper hiking gear and ensure you have enough water and snacks for the journey.
