Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, use your GPS or map application to navigate to 402 W Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46204. From the north or south, take I-65 to the exit for I-70 East. Continue on I-70 East and take the exit for West Street. Merge onto West Street and continue until you reach Washington Street. Turn right onto Washington Street and you will find the Indiana DNR Division of Historic Preservation & Archaeology on your left. Parking is available in the area but may incur a fee depending on the lot.

• Public Transportation

  For public transportation, use the IndyGo bus service. Check the IndyGo website for routes that serve downtown Indianapolis. A common route is the Red Line which stops at various points in the city. You can take the Red Line to the 'Washington & West' stop. From there, walk west along Washington Street for two blocks to reach 402 W Washington St. Ensure you have a valid fare card or cash for the bus fare, which is around $1.75.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer biking, Indianapolis has a bike-share program called Pacers Bikeshare. Locate a nearby bike station and rent a bike. Follow bike lanes to navigate to 402 W Washington St. The city is bike-friendly, with designated lanes along major streets. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow traffic rules. There may not be dedicated bike parking at the DNR office, so plan to lock your bike securely nearby.

• Walking

  If you are in the vicinity, walking to the Indiana DNR Division of Historic Preservation & Archaeology is a pleasant option. The office is located in the Mile Square area of downtown Indianapolis. From Monument Circle, head west along Washington Street for about 0.5 miles. The office will be on your left at 402 W Washington St. Enjoy the sights of the city as you walk!
