Getting There

  • Vaporetto

    To reach the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore, start by heading to the nearest Vaporetto (water bus) stop. If you are in the San Marco area, make your way to 'San Marco - Vallaresso' or 'Rialto' Vaporetto stops. Once at the Vaporetto stop, look for Line 2 or Line 1. Board the Vaporetto heading towards 'San Giorgio Maggiore'. Enjoy the scenic ride across the Grand Canal. After approximately 10 minutes, you will arrive at the 'San Giorgio Maggiore' stop. Disembark and you will see the church directly in front of you on the island.
