If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Hida. Head east on Route 158 towards Takayama. After approximately 15 minutes, follow signs for Takayama City Center and continue straight. Once in Takayama, look for signs directing you to Tenshojimachi. There are several parking options available near the Higashiyama Promenade, including public parking lots. Expect to pay around 500 yen for parking.

Public Transportation (Bus)
From Hida, you can take a local bus to Takayama Station. Buses run frequently, and the journey takes about 30 minutes, with a fare of approximately 600 yen. Once you arrive at Takayama Station, exit the station and head towards the Takayama Bus Terminal. From there, catch the 'Higashiyama' bus (usually marked with a sign). The bus ride will take around 10 minutes, and it drops you off near the entrance to Higashiyama Teramachi. The bus fare is around 200 yen.

Walking from Takayama Station
If you prefer to walk from Takayama Station, it is about a 20-minute walk to Higashiyama Promenade. Exit the station and head north on the main road (Higashiyama-dori). Follow the road as it curves and keep an eye out for signs directing you to Higashiyama. The promenade is located at the address: ほか Tenshojimachi, Takayama, Gifu 506-0832. The walk is scenic, as you will pass traditional houses and shops.
