Car
If you are driving from Hizen, take Route 6 towards Iwaki City. It will take approximately 40 minutes. Once you reach Iwaki, follow signs for Mukaida. Upon arriving in Mukaida, look for the Iwaki City Coal & Fossil Museum (Horuru) at the address Mukaida-3-1 Jobanyumotomachi, which is well-signposted. There is parking available at the museum.

To reach Iwaki City Coal & Fossil Museum (Horuru) using public transport, first take a train to Iwaki Station from Hizen. The journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Iwaki Station, transfer to a local bus heading to Mukaida. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the nearest stop to the museum, which is Mukaida Station. From there, it is a short 10-minute walk to the museum located at Mukaida-3-1 Jobanyumotomachi. The bus fare is around 500 yen.
