Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from central Izumi, head west on Route 3 towards Hitoyoshi. Continue for approximately 40 kilometers (around 50 minutes). As you approach Hitoyoshi, keep an eye out for signs directing you towards the Hitoyoshi Railroad Museum. Turn left onto Nakaaoimachi Road and follow it until you reach 343-14 Nakaaoimachi, where the museum is located. There is parking available nearby, but make sure to check for any parking fees.

    From Izumi Station, take the JR Kyushu train towards Kumamoto. The journey to Hitoyoshi Station takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Hitoyoshi Station, exit the station and head southwest on Route 3. Walk for about 10 minutes (800 meters) until you reach Nakaaoimachi Road. Turn left and continue for about 1 kilometer until you see the Hitoyoshi Railroad Museum at 343-14 Nakaaoimachi.
