Car
If you're driving, take Route 9 towards Taishacho from central Izumo. Follow the signs for Izumo Taisha, which will lead you directly to the shrine. The journey takes approximately 15 minutes, depending on traffic. Parking is available near the shrine, but be aware that there may be a parking fee that can range from 300 to 500 yen.
Public Transportation - Bus
From Izumo Station, you can take the Izumo City Bus. Board the bus heading towards 'Izumo Taisha' and disembark at the 'Izumo Taisha' stop. The bus ride takes about 20 minutes and costs around 500 yen. Once you get off, follow the signs to the Grand Gate of Seidamari, which is a short 5-minute walk.
Public Transportation - Train and Walk
If you are near the JR West Line, take a train to Izumo Station. Once at Izumo Station, exit and head towards the bus terminal to catch the Izumo City Bus to 'Izumo Taisha'. Alternatively, if you prefer walking, it's approximately a 30-minute walk from the station to the shrine, heading southeast on Route 9 directly towards the shrine, following the signs along the way.
