Car
If you are driving, you can take the Nanki Expressway (also known as the Kisei Expressway) from Osaka or Kobe. Head towards Wakayama and take the exit for Koya. Follow the signs for Koyasan (Koya-san) as you ascend the mountain. The drive takes approximately 2 to 2.5 hours depending on traffic. Once in Koyasan, look for parking areas near Torodo, as parking can be limited.

Public Transportation - Train
To reach Torodo using public transportation, start at Namba Station in Osaka. Take the Nankai Koya Line to Gokurakubashi Station. This journey takes about 1 hour. Upon arrival at Gokurakubashi, transfer to the Koyasan Cable Car, which will take you up to Koyasan Station. The cable car ride is approximately 5 minutes. From Koyasan Station, take the Nankai Koya Line Bus (Koyasan Bus) to the Torodo (Lantern Hall). The bus ride takes about 10 minutes and costs around 300 yen. Be sure to check the bus schedule, as it may vary throughout the day.

Public Transportation - Bus
Alternatively, if you are already in the Kinki region, you can take a highway bus directly to Koyasan from major cities like Osaka or Kyoto. The highway bus from Osaka's Namba Station to Koyasan takes around 2 hours and costs approximately 2000 yen. Once you arrive at Koyasan, you can walk to Torodo, which is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop. Follow the signs towards Okunoin, as Torodo is located near the entrance of this significant temple area.
