If you're traveling by car, you will need to navigate to Koyasan in Wakayama Prefecture. From Osaka, take the Hanshin Expressway to the Nishi-Meihan Expressway and follow the signs for Koyasan. The drive takes about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Koyasan, follow the local signs to the Kongobu-ji Okuno-in Gokusho, located at 550 Koyasan. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that it may require a small fee, typically around 500 yen.

Train and Bus
For those using public transportation, start by taking a train from Osaka to Namba Station. From Namba, board the Nankai Koya Line to Gokurakubashi Station. The train ride takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. At Gokurakubashi, transfer to the Nankai Koya Line cable car, which will take you up to Koyasan Station. The cable car ride offers scenic views and takes about 5 minutes. From Koyasan Station, take the local bus or walk towards the Kongobu-ji Okuno-in Gokusho at 550 Koyasan. The bus fare is around 200 yen, and the ride is approximately 10 minutes.
