From Kyoto, take the Meishin Expressway towards Otsu. Continue on the expressway for about 30 minutes. Take the exit towards Otsu and follow the signs for Sakamoto. Start at Kyoto Station and take the JR Lake Biwa Line towards Otsu. After about 30 minutes, get off at Otsu Station. From Otsu Station, transfer to the Keihan Line and take the train towards Sakamoto. Get off at Sakamoto Station. From there, you can take a local bus or walk approximately 20 minutes following the signs to Enryaku-ji Daikodo (Grand Lecture Hall).
