If you are starting your journey from Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Bus #100 or #206 from the bus terminal. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Heian Jingu Mae' bus stop. From there, it is just a short walk (about 5 minutes) to the Heian-Jingu Shrine Grand Torii. Follow the signs towards the shrine, and you will see the majestic torii gate as you approach.

Public Transportation - Subway and Bus
From the Kyoto Subway Karasuma Line, get off at 'Marutamachi Station'. Transfer to bus #204 towards 'Kiyomizu-dera' and ride for about 15 minutes. Disembark at 'Heian Jingu Mae' bus stop. The Grand Torii is a short 5-minute walk from there, following the path to the shrine entrance.

If you are traveling by car, head towards the Heian-Jingu Shrine using the following directions: From central Kyoto, drive north on Sanjo-dori and then turn left onto Okazaki-dori. Continue straight for about 3 km. Look for signs to Heian-Jingu Shrine. There is parking available near the shrine, but be aware that parking fees may apply, typically around 500 yen for a few hours.
