Car
If you are driving from Kyoto countryside, take the Kyoto Higashi Bypass (Kyoto Toll Road) towards Kyoto City. Exit at the Kyoto Zoo exit (Kyoto Zoo I.C.) and follow the signs for the city center and then Okazaki. The address is Okazaki Hoshojicho, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto, 606-8333. Parking is available near the zoo for a fee of approximately 500 yen per hour.

Public Transportation
To reach Kyoto City Zoo via public transportation, first find the nearest train station in Kyoto countryside. Take a train to Keage Station on the Tozai Line. From Keage Station, exit and walk approximately 10 minutes towards the zoo. Follow the signs towards Okazaki, and you will find the entrance to Kyoto City Zoo at Okazaki Hoshojicho, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto, 606-8333. The train fare from Kyoto countryside to Keage Station is around 300 yen.
